Ferdie Lubbe of Pretoria, South Africa, stands as one of the country's elite fanciers. Whether competing in union races or one loft challenges, Mountain Lofts remains a prominent name in modern pigeon racing.

The foundational pigeons driving the colony’s achievements include key birds such as 'Alles Acht', 'Master Piece', 'New Replacement', and 'Concord', along with famed breeding pairs like 'Master Piece x Endless Power' and 'Alles Acht x Super Girl'.

This breeding strength has yielded major achievements, including 1st and 3rd Afrikapro Blue Jacket Ace Pigeons in 2023, as well as 2nd and 4th place finishes in the 2025 Afrikapro Black Jacket team competition.

Among recent highlights are two 1st-place Marlbank Hotspot victories and a 3rd-place finish in Afrikapro Race 7 achieved by 'Jamaican Music'.

2nd Place Hotspot 6 Noupoort & Pigeon of the Week

The foundation of Niekie Pieters pigeon family began in 1997, when his father, Joggie Pieters, visited Johan Jonker and was shown a cock with an injured wing bearing ring number '150' and ended up with this cock. To this day, '150' remains the cornerstone foundation cock of the colony. In 2002, Niekie and his late father Joggie visited the legendary Andre Carelsen and acquired 25 youngsters. After three seasons of racing, they selected the top performers for the breeding loft. Crossing the '150' line with these Andre Carelsen pigeons produced the renowned family of pigeons that Niekie races today.

Star Racer: 'IMMACULATE'

'IMMACULATE' won 2nd-7th-9th-14th-31st-50th-91st Marlbank positions during the 7 hotspot races! The standout superstar of the 2026 Marlbank season, though unfortunately lost during the final race. This outstanding racer was produced through a co-breeding venture between Fred van Heerden and Niekie Pieters. The sire was supplied by Fred, while the dam was a 1st & 2nd VPU Union winner descended directly from the cross between'150' and Andre Carelsen lines.

3rd Place Hotspot 6 Noupoort

De Kruik Sindikaat was established by Gert Visser (Jan Kempdorp, South Africa) alongside his late father. For many years, their primary focus has been competing in One Loft races, aiming specifically to produce tAce pigeons - a goal they have consistently achieved. Among their recent highlights is 'ACCURATE ', an exceptional hen who earned 4th Ace Pigeon at Marlbank after finishing 3rd in Hotspot 6 Noupoort and placing 16th in the 655km Final race.

The lineage powering 'ACcURATE''s success dates back two decades, beginning when Gert and his father imported several Jos Vercammen pigeons from Belgium to South Africa, laying the foundation for his entire loft. Combining these Jos Vercammen lines with Willie Steenkamp's Houbens produced a winning cross that delivered De Kruik Sindikaat's finest racing performances.
