Race 2 Winburg was flown by Dinokeng Loft, liberated from Winburg, Free State, over a distance of 351km. The race saw 460 pigeons basketed by 109 fanciers.
Liberation took place under clear skies at Winburg, with temperatures at 10°C and a light southwest tailwind of 10km/h. By the midpoint near Kroonstad, conditions had warmed to 16°C under continued clear skies, with the southwest tailwind strengthening slightly to 11km/h. As the pigeons crossed into Gauteng toward Dinokeng, cloud cover remained light at just 10%, temperatures had climbed to 19°C, and the wind had shifted to a south-southwesterly direction at 13km/h — a tailwind that held favourable for the entire route and contributed to the winning speed of 1525.76 m/min.
