By the 10:43 mid-race mark near Kroonstad, temperatures had climbed to 15-17°C under bright, sunny skies, with a gentle 8-12 km/h northwest breeze keeping the birds moving smoothly ahead of an approaching cold front. Arrival over Krugersdorp brought clear blue skies, 21°C, and a light 7.5 km/h NE breeze giving a mild cross-headwind on the final stretch.
