Cobus Crause: The King of Cape Town International OLR

F1 Lofts

Behind F1 Lofts stands Cobus Crause, a new name that has become synonymous with top results in South African One Loft Racing. Based in Kimberley (ZA), Crause brings 26 years of pigeon racing experience to the sport, having built his foundation within the Kimberley Homing Society and the Noord Kaaplandse Posduif Federasie before turning his full attention to the competitive one loft race scene since 2021.

F1 Lofts is very much a team effort. While Crause manages a demanding professional career abroad, day to day management of the loft rests with his fiancée, Lynique Botha, who ensures the birds are kept in top condition. That foundation is further strengthened by the mentorship of Oom Flippie from Dieplaagte/Sterkfontein Lofts, whose tactical guidance continues to shape Crause's strategic approach to racing.

Rather than spreading focus across the calendar, F1 Lofts commits to a couple of South Africa's most demanding One Loft Races — the Cape Town International, the Karoo Million and the Central Provincial One Loft series. It's a deliberate strategy built around one core belief: selection is everything. Crause is convinced that success starts with getting your hands on the best genetics available, then combining those genetics to move the family forward. That philosophy runs directly through the F1 Lofts pigeon family, bred from Dieplaagte and Sterkfontein Lofts lines together with Koos Booyse genetics out of the best Mike Ganus genetics.

Exceptional Results 

F1 Lofts carries a formidable list of achievements into the new season, including 2nd Ace Pigeon and 14th Final at the Cape Town International OLR Summer 2025, a 1st Final finish at the Diaz One Loft 2025, and a dominant 2026 campaign featuring 3rd Ace Pigeon and 22nd Final at the Cape Town International OLR Summer, followed by 1st Ace Pigeon and 2nd Final at the Cape Town International OLR Winter, plus a further 5th Final at the Cape Town International OLR Summer 2026.

‘Love 3’ The New Sensation

The Cape Town International Winter series witnessed a new icon called 'LOVE 3'. Fantastic racing hen bred by F1 Lofts. 1st Ace Cape Town Int. OLR Winter 2026, also 2nd Place Final Race! Positions at CTIOLR Winter 2026:

Since CTIOLR Winter series races on the Federated Board of Homing Unions truck, 'LOVE 3' competed against the largest organisation in South Africa. Racing against 7500+ pigeons per race, she won 4 times top 5.5%, placing 83e-96th-209th-414th on the truck!
