Edenburg 444km Hotspot 3
Edenburg HS 3 saw SAIPR Lofts Winter's Krugersdorp loft host a 444km race from Edenburg, with 488 pigeons basketed across 138 competing fanciers.
Birds left the liberation point at 07:30 into cold, clear skies, with temperatures around 4-6°C and light visibility-friendly conditions overhead. A light north-easterly breeze of 10-14km/h gave a slight assist off the angle of release. By the race's midpoint near Kroonstad, temperatures had lifted to 10-12°C under mostly clear skies, with a fresher 15-20km/h easterly requiring only minor course correction. Arrivals into Krugersdorp came under clear-to-fair skies with high cloud ceilings and no precipitation, in the day's peak warmth of 17-18°C, with a steady 14km/h breeze out of the east-north-east.
